A twenty three yr old woman
With nothing left but a dream
In inspiration to write poetry
She gains almost everything
A house and a pool in her backyard
Her mom with a smile on her face
Her son to have his own room
A dream she seems to chase
For now she lives in the projects
With hopes to find a job
She can't go home very late
Because she's scared of getting robbed
Her mom gives her hope everyday
That soon she will succeed
So college gets the best of her
And her poetry feels her needs
She wants to become a success story
Like the ones we see on T.V.
She has her hand out for reach
But doesn't feel a thing
She hopes that one day she will grow
And a poetry book she makes
She strives to make it through the day
She'll do whatever it takes
For now she's just a story
A book that no one has read
But in her deepest fantasy
She dreams of a star in bed.
