I'm writing this while I'm immmmmebriated
it's a pome
I think
darnnit
Why do I think I'm talentent when I drink
darnnit
I'd rather write Dam
but I forgot how to spell it
Okay
I really want a glass of oranges
but theres nuthin but flour in
the frigrator

Four hours later......

Boy what a piece of junk this is
anyways I found that Humor while being inebriated
is based on being stupid I think and everyone

loves someone acting stupid. I'm not sure
if being born stupid is funny because they're stuck
for life being that way, but being stupid
when you're smart is funny because people know
they can make fun of you and you won't remember
a thing basically

The funny thing about writing while being drunk is I believe many famous writers
were inebriated or almost at that point when they wrote their bestseller, i.e.
Ernest Hemingway spent a great amount of time drinking
and there are some other famous writers who drank but don't want to be remembered
for that skill because it can be shameful but it is what makes for a famous writer to have
'baggage'. I know I think better when I've had a few glasses of wine but I don't think I would be able to finish a story if I was drunk, because I'd forget what the heck I was driving at in the first place.

I'll try and write a better poem while pretending I'm drunk and this is how it goes:

Memrys of me in the dark
drinkin a beer
and I thnk I peeeeeed my pants, whoops.

Yeah I did pee my pants,
is that how you spell pants?

What was I talkin about
Oh, thats rite
wheres the handle on this door
I thnk I'll take a nap
Memrys of me
and John being at the party
and then I found beer and wine don't mix

I think thats what I remember now

Being creative while inebriated may work for some and it may be humorous but humor is
a strange concept, humor can be cerebral, it can be crass, it can be dry and it can be off the wall and only a select bunch understand it. I know that there was a character on The Dean Martin Show of an old drunk and everyone laughed hysterically when he miss-pronounced words and sang. Dean Martin would sometimes act inebriated on the show which was entertaining as well, so there is humor related to being drunk.

The writers of the show found humor in writing this material and the audience obviously loved it because it was identifiable. People could relate to it somehow on a personal level. Writing when inebriated may be funny and it may be pitiful, it depends. Everyone loves a writer who can't spell, being pitiful can be funny, and Comedy and Drama are interchangeable. When we mock the writer who is drunk, it can be funny for some and sad to others, it depends on a great deal of things. When people drink they usually think they can do anything, but if they look back on their work, it may be confusing or inspiring or both.
