The Devil's Relatives
Her Niece
Chapter 1
A shiver started down my spine as movement in the shadows caught my eye. I kept my eyes focused on my boyfriend in front of me.
"Listen, I'm really sorry for what happened in there"
As much as I loved seeing him grovel, I only had half of my attention on him. Most of it was centered on the shadow on the corner of the street. It was large enough to hold a full-grown man, but I couldn't smell any of the pack near, so I dismissed the idea.
Must be pixies, I thought as I turned my gaze back to Colme.
His plain brown hair glistened in the bright sun. Black eyes and a handsome face glowed with regret. I sigh and take pity on him.
"Colme, calm yourself," I order as I turn and start to walk.
I was aware of a shadow following ours, but there was no maker.
Bright sun effects your eyes, a voice in my mind says as I continue walking.
"Honestly Acacia, it meant nothing!" Colme said.
I had set the woman on the poor man in a fit of anger. A few gentle pushes in the woman's mind had encouraged her enough. I know, I was being childish, but I can't stand males who leave the toilet seat up! So, I had manipulated a female against my boyfriend. So what. He had purposefully left the seat up, just to tick me off. When I had come out of the bathroom, frowning, he had smirked. Smirked! Like it was some great trick to leave a piece of plastic up! He was lucky I didn't call in the devil herself to take care of it.
Oh yeah, I have connections. How would he like to sit on the toilet and, instead of falling in, (not that I did) have a snake demon take a chomp out of his butt? That ought to show him.
Yeah, yeah. I have issues, blah, blah, blah. Once again, I don't care. He did it on purpose. And I am not done with my punishments.
As I chopped herbs I felt Colme's eyes burning into my back. I was wearing an apron over my jeans and shirt, somewhat concealing my nice chest, flat stomach, and long slim legs. My waist length, black hair was tied into a sloppy bun on top of my head, a few strands falling down into my face and down to brush the top of the main pocket on the apron. Warm streaks of liquid streamed down my face from my violet eyes as I brought the heel of the knife down on the herbs time and again. Stretching my medium height, I called to the spice on the top shelf silently, the door angled so that Colme couldn't see what I was doing. The salt came to my hand willingly, happy to please.
"Why are you crying? Are you upset? I knew you were upset!" Colme said
