Why Do Women Hate On Each Other
By Melantha Nelson
Lately, in today's society, I have noticed a lot of changes in women and even in myself. Our generation of women, I have to admit is a hot mess. Why are we always competing with each other like we have some internal magic or something. Guess what is the most thing that women fight and compete over is men of course. Women have been taught to be insecure in today's society. We are brainwashed to talk a certain way, dress a certain way, we are told if we are not married at a certain age that we are not worthy, we are also taught that if we don't have children by a certain age we are not woman enough, and of course we are taught that we all have to be a size 2 in order to be the perfect woman. No wonder most of us have eating disorders. Life is all about your thought life and when you are not strong enough or have enough self worth not to listen to all that bullying that us as women get from the media and people around us, we fall all the way down. Women are jeolous of other women's successess. Instead of doing what that person did to succeed we go to gossiping about that other woman and talking her down in order to feel good about ourselves. As women we don't congradulate each other,we get mad at each other.
As women we have to have more unity. We have to learn to be ourselves and stop worrying about what society tells us to be. Be yourself and stop worrying about what the other women are doing. If you see a woman graduating from college or getting that promotion, just congradualate that women. Stop competing with other women. Find out what you want out of life. Find out what goals and dreams you want to succeed in. Find out your purpose in life, to make a better life for yourself.
Sometimes women are considered second-class citizens, but you can't let that stop you. When you are productive in your own life, you don't have to worry about the next woman. If it's college or some type of vocational classes you want to take in order to go furthur in your job field do it. If it's losing weight, commit to a small workout plan that you know you can do. After awhile you will notice your self esteem getting higher and less things will bother you.
In conclusion, as women we are all different individuals and we all have beautiful spirits if we chose to bring out our nice sides. We have to stop feeding into the media. We have to have more unity amongst women. No we are not all going agree on everything in life, but we have to stop all the hating and jealousy of other women that are succeeding more. If you are one of those women that just wants to sit and live a boring life, that's your business, don't hate on other women that are willing to take action and make changes in their lives.
