Claire smiled as she got the diamond necklace, she didn't mind even if she had to kill for it and that now she was sitting in a cell, accused of murder.
It all began two months ago, Claire was at home when her ex husband barged his way in, demanding money. After another beating Claire gave him all she had, he left finally but Claire knew he'd be back.
Three days later Claire read in the paper how her ex husband had been left millions including a diamond necklace, her diamond necklace, the one he stole from her years ago. She decided she wanted it back, she drove to his home and watched. For seven weeks she monitored his movements, where he went, what he did, who he met. After all the watching she didn't expect what she was about to find.
Claire pushed open her ex's door, walked into the dark hall and made her way upstairs. She walked into the bedroom and opened the door "oh, how predictable he is" Claire laughed to herself as she pulled the diamond necklace out from the drawer, as she put it around her neck, she saw Tom her ex laying on the floor. He'd been hit on the head, blood was everywhere.
Claire ran out of the house straight into the arms of a detective, Claire was crying uncontrollably telling him what was in the house.
The detective interviewed Claire and this was why she was sitting, waiting in this smelly cell. It felt like hours when the detective came and told Claire she was free to go, he checked her story and all the evidence that Claire had gathered on Tom her ex. Claire wanted to now what had happened, the detective explained" while she was watching Tom someone had been watching Claire. Tom's wife who wanted all the money for herself decided to kill tom and set up Claire, "But how did she now that I'd be there that night"? She hit him over the head a few hours before you walked into the house and if you hadn't gone in she said she would have said it must've been an intruder".
As Claire walked out of the station she had a grin across her face, sure enough tom's wife did hit him but Claire forgot to mention that she had finished the job. Poor Tom laying there begging for help Claire remembers laughing at him and then hitting him so hard, for all the beatings he had given her, all the times he stole from her.
Well she laughed to herself all the moneys mine because what tom's new wife didn't no was that Tom had never changed his will, all Claire had to do was sit back and wait for the call.
As the sun beats down on Claire as she is laying on the beach she looks at the paper and there front page news Tom's wife got a life sentence for the murder. Claire's thoughts are interrupted as the detective kisses her forehead
And they both laugh.
