My two favorite "F" words, Friendship & Forever.

A good friendship will last along time. I have been very fortunate to have three great friends for seventeen years. That in my eyes is a long time, It's lasted more than all of my relationship's with men. I really can't say that I think anything last forever. I know that people change, Times change, and if you don't change or grow with it, You may become distant from one another. Forever is a long time. Often forever is used when people mean just a long time. I have yet to see relationships last forever. I also haven't seen material item's last forever.

I have been dealing with some major issues

with my friend's. I wanted to take the time today to reflect on our friendships by writing an article. I came across this topic, "Should friends last forever?" I really would love to be all cozy and emotional for you and say yes. I'm sorry I just can't. To a lasting friendship you will have a lot of bumps in the road, maybe even a few hill's to conquer. The problem lays with, Can you be strong enough to get through whatever comes your way? Are you and your friend compatible enough to over look important problems you may have? I do not have the answers to these question's. What I do know is if you are willing to put up with a lot, and so is your friend, you will be pal's for a long time to come.

You know if you are alike and what the

do's and dont's are. If one or the other cross's these boundaries and your still friend's that was a bump you over come. Probably one or the other should work on their faults. A friend will forgive, But a good friend will let you know, That wasn't right and how they felt about the wrong doing. Let's face it we all make mistakes some small and some very big.A friend is true to you if you grow together and take each other's changes in life to heart. These are the types of friend's I would want to last forever. I believe the saying goes "A good friend knows your flaws, But doesn't mind being seen with you in public". It is cute and funny also very true. A person that believes that is a great friend. One who also believes they are a better person around you, can be very delightful to have as well. Anyone who thinks you make them a better person, from a friend,lover, or companion is something worth holding on to.

On the other hand,

If you have a friend just because they are familiar to you. Or a friend because thats all you think you know is their way. Then maybe your not giving others a shot. A big mistake is holding on to an old friend just because you colored with them in grade school. Most feel that went through alot with this friend. They believe alot of time and energy went into this relationship all these years. Who really wants to loose on their investments? Right? No! If you feel like your friendship is a lot of work. Then you really don't have a friendship. If you notice you are the only one working in this while the other just takes up your time clogging up your life with all about them. Maybe it's time to let go. People change over the years. We have so many chapters in our own books that we rarely are ever who we used to be. Often we do what we know. People really don't like to much change.

So if your asking

Should a friendship last forever? I guess that answer would depend on you as a person. Do you believe in forever? Are you forgiving? Can you be there for them, even if you don't agree.Forever is a very strong word heavily thrown about. Forever is a long time. Can you work through all of the problems life throws at you with a friend? The answer only lies within yourselves.
