Poetry: Remembering love

by Alex Witnish

Created on: May 16, 2008   Last Updated: July 26, 2008

We thought we were it,
we thought we were the one,
look at everything now,
and how it has all come undone.

I loved you so much,
more than one can declare,
the pain is so excruciating,
too awful and painful to bear.

It is actually over,
It is finally sinking in,
goodbye you heartless man,
you'll be in for a world of sin.

As I wash away my sorrows,
and say this last goodbye,
I will be strong,
I will not cry!

My tears start to fall,
as I say what I never could say,
I thought the pain would eventually fade,
but it remains lingering on every single day.

My head is held up high,
as I walk away from you,
who is this man,
the man who did what he said he would never do.
