As with many things, death comes in many shapes and forms. So, with that idea in mind, how many things in your environment could be likely to cause your death? To be honest there are endless ways that our existence on this plane could be ended, just think about it, I bet many of us juggle with death on a daily occurrence but it is now just part of life, just like our ancestors feared being eaten by wild animals, buts now in our present day society, the wild animals are replaced by cars that can cause instant death when hit by one, when we are at work we have to deal with the many dangers that could end it all so quickly, when we walk in the street there are dangers that could cause death and, so, for this reason, with so many things that could possible cause our death, why has death not visited us, in our lives, in our homes, more often ?
I would say that we have a choice, a choice to change our destinies at any given time or place, in any sense or form. In my life I have been close to death on at least six occasions, four of those were being struck by a moving vehicle as a child, but luckily I was at that age where I just seemed to bounce, get up with a few cuts and bruises have a good cry but in the end I walked away. On one of these occasions I nearly had a metal bar dropped onto my head, but here I am, writing about my experience, some may ask, ok, so how did you survive, well, it was quite straight forward, I made a choice not to die.
The choice was to stand there or to move and I made the choice to move out of the way. But hang on a minute some people could say It was your fate that made you move out the way and obviously, it was your destiny to live, not die'.
But most importantly, please remember, that even though the coin has two sides, with two different possibilities of what may occur on two distinctly different times, these two separate coin faces are bound together by one common thread, they are part of the same coin.
So what does this all mean, on one side of the coin I made the choice to move out of the way of the falling metal bar, but, on the other side of the coin, I have It was your fate to move out of the way of the falling iron bar'.
So, I suggest that fate and choice, choice and fate, are part of the same thing, the same word but represented by two different meanings. But I think with this article we are all missing the point, in that, we are all destined to die at some point, in some shape or form, but it is fate that allows you to choose when you want to die.
