MY FEARS

I'm afraid of spiders
I'm afraid of sharks
I prefer the light
But I'm not afraid of the dark

I fear that I will fail in college
I fear that I won't succeed
I have all these goals
But I fear they won't be reached

I'm afraid of being alone
I fear that I will lose my friends
They are here right now
But what about in the end?

I'm afraid of doing something wrong
I'm afraid of causing her pain
But I know that my feelings
Will always stay the same

I'm afraid that her feelings could possibly change
I'm afraid she will give up on us
If that were to happen
I would be completely crushed

I'm afraid of drowning
But I'm not afraid to die
I wonder what happens when I do
Do I really go into the sky?

I fear that I'll let my dad down
That I won't live up to his expectations
I am looked at as the "prince"
In comparison to past generations

I fear for my mom's health
I'm afraid she is going to give up
I don't think I could survive
Without her love

I am afraid of many things
But these fears keep me strong
It is because of my fears
That I have lived this long
