How to raise a Pit Bull

classes, ear cropping is unnecessary, and therefore becomes a personal preference. An annual check for parasites with Heartguard as a preventative is also recommended. Frontline or K9 Advantix are also great choices to help keep your pet flea and tick free.

Puppy mills and dog fighters are destroying this wonderful breed for everyone. Having your dog spayed or neutered will not only calm their temperament but also help ensure your dog is not contributing to the unwanted pet population. Pit Bulls are extremely smart and agile. They make great work dogs and are capable of performing many tasks. Pit Bulls can be employed as police or armed services dogs. Many work with search and rescue teams. They work well as therapy animals and are at their best working livestock.

Cherish these animals, exercise them regularly, start training them for their specific duty as a pup and you will have an invaluable friend for life. The life span of these dogs can be an average of twelve years or more. Provide your dog with a good healthy diet and never allow them to have small bones. Raw hide chews are great for their teeth and will provide older dogs with hours of pleasure and exercise. Pit Bulls are very attuned to their masters and often mimic their personalities. Most of all be consistent, be gentle, loving and firm. You will be rewarded with nothing less than the very best dog ever.
