Examining the concept and future of the American dream

The American dream might seem to be losing momentum, judging from the decline of the economy. There is no doubt that there are certain impediments that must be surmounted, but the spirit of America is always ready to reignite itself with the passing of time. There are those that might think otherwise, considering that certain aspects of the lifestyle of Americans have changed drastically, but things have a way of getting back on an even keel, as it had done so in the past.

It should be understood that events outside the borders of the United States, as well as those within, have rocked the structure of the economy, but the foundation on which it stands remains firm and should, as always, withstand the "seismic" effect thereof. There is also the question of supply and demand that varies from generation to generation and should be considered as a factor that is inevitable., and to which the American dream must be essentially attuned. The lifestyle of Americans might have changed, but the dream goes on and nothing could take that away. The ebb and flow of certain circumstances are not new. Of course, it seems presently harder to achieve certain goals that were readily accessible in the past, but the substance is still intact.

Based on America's outstanding democracy, the purpose of dreaming is as meaningful as ever. The indomitable spirit of this nation is an established fact; neither is its inherent freedom beholden to the wishes of those that would be delighted to see it crumble. Despair is not an American creed, and, as usual, America would turn its weakness to strength, its failures to success and its pleasant dreams to reality. America does not necessarily look for the light at the end of the tunnel. Instead, the light that shines within the embodiment of its unique democracy would steer it through the labyrinth of the tunnel, in the right direction.

Dreams abound all around the world where reality might not be attainable. In this great land of freedom, regardless of how impossible it might appear, any constructive dream could be considered as the very first milestone on the road to reality, for the reason that there is no restriction in the way of dreaming within the scope of reality.

America's freedom is intrinsically indispensable to possibilities that might be within reach. It is how we should value such freedom and how best such freedom could be exercised to pass that first milestone, known as the American dream.
