EMPTY
The mistake was huge, unavoidable, and devastating.
I couldn't believe I had actually pulled through with it.
Now, two hours later, I was feeling the full extent of my treacherous, stupid, and naive mistake.
Each breath brought on a whole new wave of unbearable pain.
There was no antidote for a broken heart.
I never thought I'D be the one feeling the pain.
I mean, I had made the decision myself.
I thought if ANYONE would be bent out of shape, it'd be HIM.
Little did I know, we'd BOTH be victims of a stupid spur-of-the-moment decision.
Every time I inhaled, a shooting pain threatened to yank me apart as violently as it could manage.
My heart was now a vast empty hole that threatened to engulf me like the blackest night.
Sobs racked my now sick body.
I couldn't control my tears now; spilling forth like a newly fallen rain.
I was now running a race I couldn't hope to win, but I was willing to DIE trying.
My only opponent: My own demise.
I would be incapable of ever loving again.
My sorrow would envelope me until I was nothing.
Just..............empty.

I have a wall you cannot see
Because it's deep inside of me

Unopened mail
not a metaphor
