Pollution plays quite a part is the INCREASING climate change. All the carbon that the atmosphere deposited after the Earth cooled has been dug up, burned and redeposited into the atmosphere. So the burning of fossil fuels has accelerated the effects of global warming. Here is my stipulation, if humans were never here on our planet, there would be global warming still. It is a naturally occurring event. the Earth has risen and fallen in temperature since it was created. If all internal combustion engines were taken off the roads today, in ten years the G.A.T. (global average temperature)would almost certainly have increased. I feel that the Earth much as live is volatile. If we, as a world, were to resolve the raping of the planet ecologically, there would be a decline in the speed of global warming. The planet can and has fixed the problem before, and it will be happy to do it again. All it will cost is every life on the planet. Man has only control over the speed in which the temperature rises, we can not stop it.

As a world, every car that is taken off the road (ones that consume fossil fuels, including Propane and methane) is another improvement. However what ever the cost, the world needs to be united in effort in order to prolong the inevitable demise of man. GE has a locomotive that can move a ton well over 400 miles on a single gallon of fuel. Oil feeds our need and foils our future, If traditionally constructed houses were made out of a renewable resource, such as concrete; energy, tree, water and land conservation would sky rocket. Geo-thermal heating is another means of conservation that uses the heat produced by the magma under the crust to heat a house. The best means of survival is not to be the fittest, it is to be unified. To sum up for the title of the article, even if we halted as much pollution as we as a planet could, the world will continue to heat as it has since the ice age ended. The only possible effect we could halt with conservation, is the speed at which our planet bakes. Though we may not know a way to reverse global warming, there is hope of living with it. If we become a planet of mole people or bubble people, there had never been a more urgent cause than to survive on this planet. We have the resources to put off the famine, energy crisis, even keeping the sea level, well, level. Desalination plants on a global magnitude could control the sea levels. Coming up with a way to freeze massive amounts of desalinized sea water in the polar caps could resolve the global warming problem. Lack of food is a pathetic excuse for humanity's inability to act humane. With all of my opinion and knowledge, and that of the collective human element taken in account, we could die today from a ball of ice or rock falling in the sky or a countless number of other life ending event's.
