Memories of a time long gone
So my friends,
We're here at last
The winds of time, change, does send
And here we are, thinking of the past
When i was young,
And tall and strong
When the favorite songs i sang
But the words were never wrong
Now i am old
Short, bald and weak
A tune, i can no longer hold
And the write words, i desperately, seek
You were smart,
And mind to quick
Yet, so kind of heart
Never missing a trick
You grew old, like I
Your kind heart, just gave in
All i could say was "Oh! Why?"
Never once, a single sin
Here we are, you and I
Old, yet still going
Fools like us will never die
The boat man, left, two pennies owing
But its not like that,
Because i stare, knowing it's wrong
Staring at your name, on an old bench sat
Because, though i have memories, you are gone

I have carried with me,
through every town I chose to flee
into every house I tried to make my home
the only thing that
YOU CAN'T FORGET
You hold your chin up,
higher than you should...
you have so much more pride,
than I ever could.
You walk so
Whisper wind, through the remaining chimes
distant, weak.
The house is peeling, like my skin
The sun is blaring, like my mind.
