My son James is 12 years old and whilst we were driving together on a rainy day we invented this game called "Spotto." All you need to start playing this game is a driver, a destination to drive too, some passengers and good eyesight.
The best place to play "Spotto" is while you are traveling in the car with your family and friends. Say goodbye to Eye Spy and say hello to "Spotto".
The aim of the game is too look out the window, spot a yellow car and yell out "Spotto" as quickly as you can. Each time you get it correct, it's a point to you. If you pick a gold car and it's not yellow, you minus yourself a point. It's a very very addictive game. We have even launched the advanced game too, for the more experienced "Spotto" player.
For the advanced game, we have included in the game that if you spot a Police car and yell out Spot x, its worth two points. Two yellow cars following each other is Spot e. All players can vote as to who was the first person to say the correct title. If there is no one in the cars, its not counted and no points are allocated. Motorbikes are included in the "Spotto" category. Trailers, Buses, Taxi's and Trucks are excluded from the game totally.
Our whole family recently played "Spotto" on the way to Melbourne last Xmas, it was a game that went on for hours. It's a game for all age groups and a game the whole family can get into and continue playing day after day, evening after evening. It never stops.
You can think to yourself that you are a winner as your score maybe in front by two or three points, but it's amazing how a few metres of road can change the game all around. You can never guess who the winner will be ever. You can set goals in this game by making a score of 15 points being the target to reach first, but it's up to each family to decide the rules of the game before the car turns out of your driveway.
So try it next time with the kids, its actually amazing how many yellow cars are out there on the road and how the game can actually start play tricks on your mind. You can start seeing yellow cars in the distance when they are actually white cars traveling along with their head lights on, making the bonnet look abit yellow, forcing you into a safe sense of security to yell out the word "Spotto" to hear back at you that your score is now "Minus One".
I think everybodies mums and dads will be thrilled with this new game. It doesn't cost a thing to play and it will definitely take the drama out of "Are we there yet?" This whingey sentence has been around for years, even since I was little, some 40 years ago and the best thing about "Spotto" is that everyone can take part and feel part of a team, no matter how big or small you are.
