While wandering on the video website YouTube one day I heard and saw this guy that was basically reading from a paper, but he was stating that this year's coming election for Americans will not happen because Bush will not let it happen.
Now when this guy first said this I was stunned, shocked, and in disbelief because I thought these ideas were way too radical and just his opinions, but this guy knew exactly what he was talking about. He was talking about the National Continuity Policy of America.
Not too many Americans know about this signed dictatorship agreement on May 9, 2007, and it is said too effect the election only if we are too, "suffer from any catastrophic event" than Bush will remain in power even if it is over his presidential term. Another problem with this policy is that the acting president, which is Bush gets to determine what classifies as a catastrophic event. The policy also repeatedly states that the Constitution be the document that gets enforced and remain that way.
I find this outrageous because whatever he can do a new president can do as well, and Congress has most of the monetary power anyways. So, keeping Bush or whomever in office longer because of a catastrophic event isn't how we normally run the government.
"'Congress has also been silent about this blatant power grab and usurpation of its authority. The National Emergencies Act gives Congress the right to prevent open ended declarations of states of emergency, but that act's existence is not very comforting. If Congress won't even speak up about the National Continuity Policy, why would they speak up if Bush declared an emergency and told them to go to hell? Congressional Democratic leaders Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi would once again go along to get along as the Bushites began a reign of terror against democracy.'"(Black Agenda Report)
