Fame, makes a man take things over
Fame, lets him loose, hard to swallow
Fame, puts you there where things are hollow
Fame... David Bowie
Yes you can help me, I will take three orders of "power," one dose of "love" and five of "fame," please. How much for all that? That much? Jeez, okay, since power and love usually follow fame just give me the fame thing. How much for this alone? Good Lord that's a lot of money, okay; I will take fifteen seconds of it then. I'll take it to go, wrap it up pretty for me now, thank you.
I have fifteen seconds of fame in my pretty box! What am I going to do with it? It only cost me enough without a money back guarantee so I'd better make the most of it. Hmm, I know! Remember that guy on Myspace who wrote that really mean blog about that one dude? He's a top blogger now! He's so famous and everyone on Myspace knows him! Oh, wait, what he wrote was pretty awful and I remember feeling a bit sick after reading it, I don't even like that guy anymore. Never mind, no rad, meanie of a blog I shall write, there's got to be something else I can spend my fifteen seconds on.
Fame, what you like is in the limo
Fame, what you get is no tomorrow
Fame, what you need you have to borrow
Maybe I shall make a "You Tube" video! Yeah, that seemed to work for that one guy-girl person! Um, wait, what was it that he-she was boobin about again? I seem not to recall now, guess that it didn't serve him-her very well after all.
I know! I can make a sex video like that one really pretty, skinny rich girl did! I heard that it was "so hot," not that I personally wanted to view it but everyone else in the universe seemed to want to do so. Nah, my bum has taken on a new dimension here lately and that probably won't be too attractive to see. Plus, what an icky thing to do! Really.
I have to think of "something" here, yet it can't be a good deed. Good deeds seem to go unnoticed these days. No fame in doing this for certain. What to do... what to do...
Fame, bully for you, chilly for me
Got to get a rain check on pain
Know what? I really can't think of anything I want to spend my fifteen seconds on. The price of fame can cost more than just money; one can pay for it with their soul - loosing ones self to something which isn't real, to something you can never get back, to something which anyone may even remember tomorrow, next week, next year.
I'm rather a bit fond of my soul so I think that maybe I don't wish to be famous after all. If I take it back then maybe they will give me back my money and I can afford those Jimmy Choo shoes I've been drooling over like a teething baby. Everyone feels famous when they are wearing Jimmy shoes!
