Family board games will give you and your family years of great memories, filled with laughter, joy, anger and of course the will to be the best. To find the best family board games you need to look for not too complex games, and games which usually take a great amount of time to play, this way the bonding between you and your family will be able to take place. Now, I believe that competition brings out the best in people, but it can also cause fights and show your true colours, now when you think of fighting, it may seem as a bad moment but it will build itself into a glorious memory, that is why you need high competition for these games.
The first game I will name is the classic monopoly. It might be a bit confusing at first for some, but that is where the advantage comes for the more experienced members of the family and get to pick on young little brother Timmy. If he cries, it's just part of the game, and just let him know that someday he will be able to bully someone the same we was taken advantage of. This game can last hours, and in order to succeed you will have to trade properties, which helps build the bonding process. It is a strategic game and even helps kids learn the lesson of how to manage their money as well as their belongings.
The next game on my list is my personal favorite, Scategories. This one is a brain tester to see how quick you can think and really triggers the mind into using the left side of the brain. You basically role an alphabetical di, say it lands on a C, you are given a card with a bunch of questions such as appliances, food, song names... then you start the timer and have to fill up your card by associating each subject with a name for example beside food you put corn. This game takes about an hour to play but it is also fun to see how everyone thinks and joke around. The good thing about this game is its less competitive between you and your sibling and more determined to do better for personal satisfaction.
The final game on my list is scrabble. It is probably the least exciting of them all, however it is one which you a required to spell the whole time, so it builds your brain muscles as well as uses them. It lets you be a little creative and it is fun to see the different type of words others use to try and win the game.
With this list of 3 games, you a golden for 3 nights of family board game success, the best memories you'll have of your family, apart from trips, is the ones where your playing monopoly and don't know why you traded away boardwalk to your mom, who then took all your money when you landed on her hotel.
