As parents, we all try our best to raise our children the best way that we can in order to mold them into humble adults and get them ready for this challenging world. Some of us don't know what's the right or wrong way to raise our children. Sometimes, our ways may not be the best way. No matter how we raise our children, as parents, we all have the same intentions for our children. It's just that our ideal of good parenting is different than others. To this conclusion, is there right or wrong ways to raise a child? Before I begin, I would like to address that I do not claim perfection or expertise as a parent. I have made many mistakes. Fortunately, my child has overcome some of them with my help and guidance as a parent. I'm fortunate to have a child that is easy to raise and I'm proud of him and will continue to guide him until he's ready to handle any situation on his own. Perhaps you can benefit from my mistakes, but in any case I am not the standard. God's word is the standard, so we will appeal to it. Here is the answer to "Are there right or the wrong ways to raise children?"
The answer is: Man's ways are not made perfect. The only right way and perfect way is God's way.
This is not a how-to train your children message, but it gives you some general ideas about the goals parents can set in child training. We will probably have our child in the home for about 18 years, and during that time it is our responsibility to see that the child is educated, trained, and enough well brought-up and become humble and wised. We worry so much about providing for our children financially, including material things, making sure they get what ever they want, we don't think about God's knowledge and wisdoms for our children. Knowledge and wisdoms of God is the greatest gifts that we can ever give our children. It is a useful gift that will help our children be ready to enter into this challenging world. We can set up a life "curriculum" for our child, for every year of his/her life, which will enable him/her to reach his/her potential in God's plan for his/her life.
The foundational belief in these studies is that God's word provides the best way to raise children.
Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. By following God's word we can raise children who avoid evil and serve God faithfully.
Bible principles about child raising are so critical that we will refer to them as the "keys" that open the door to success.
