IT'S JUST NORMAL
A habitual creature; thats me
I do it today and always
Watching these beautiful ladies
Who make sure I notice them
Their faces, chest and behind
It's just normal and human
But my virtue observing heart
Is not a potential victim
I nourish my eyes with their beauty
And bless their lives with advice
That flowers fate is known
In the morning they are irresistible
But their charm is dead before noon
An understanding being; I try to be
I listen to all words said
Some pleasant, others insulting
From the mouths of gentlemen
By the tongues of wicked women
I take and swallow it all
They are my friends and enemies
I know I can't do anything to help them
For whoever they are it's choice
Their freeedom is uncompromised
I give them an opportunity to spit it all
To the satisfaction of their hearts
They all make my days
My survival; a normal struggle
I make it by changing habitats
To the upcountry; to the urban
I walk in the stinking streets
And trek through the dusty (earthen)roads
Luck drives me through floods and droughts
And my creator's mercy shelters me in the deserts
Darkness spares me it's dangers at night
But I have never been able to avoid natural pain
It follows me wherever I go
But I'm happy that I know it's a debt I must pay
A parmanent stain it is
Only death can wash it clean

The defiant girl
using lies and mental games
to face down an abusive, drunk man
- calling himself a father -
The confused young
In my dreams, people fly.
They soar and swoop
laughing, calling
to each other, the birds,
the sky.
They race the clouds,
then
The Missing Piece
Doubling back to where
I was just standing,
I forget what it was
that I needed.
My brain is working
overtime-it

Few tears will be shed
While remembering the one
Who walked among us
But was never really there
Intangible traces
Of mere existence
by Geri Lee
A Window To My World
Here is a window, a bearing of soul
Look inside, God plays the leading role
Through defeat and success
