Poetry: Dreams

Before I wake

Open my eyes late at night
I still see you smiling in my dreams
I reach out to feel you next to me
You're not there and nothings as it seems

I see her passing through a door
And her silhouette, it speaks to me
Her smile is what I'm looking for
She is the dream girl I've never seen

Dream girl, for you I wait . . .
Dream girl, it's not too late . . .
Dream girl, for you I wait . . .
Dream girl . . . Please don't do away . . .

I get through each day for her sake
Now all that I want is to stay asleep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the good Lord my soul to keep

Dream girl, for you I wait . . .
Dream girl don't let me . . .
Dream girl it's not too late . . .
Dream girl . . . Please don't go away . . .

Dream girl, for you I wait . . .
Dream girl don't go away . . .
Dream girl before it's too late . . .
Dream girl . . .What keeps me awake ?
