No. The Iraqi's should not have hanged Saddam.
What they should have done is subjected him to every single type of torture he subjected the Iraqi citizens to. One torture at a time and then give him all the medical attention and time he needs to heal, so he can suffer the next torture.
It is unfortunate that his sons didn't survive so that they could have suffered the same fate. As a matter of fact, any one who was involved in administering these tortures should also suffer the same fate.
Saddam got off easy for what he did. His stinking sons got off even easier. Too bad the GI that found that scumbag in the rabbit hole didn't pour gasoline down the hole and then toss in a match.
What should they have done with him? Set him up with a retirement fund? If the stupid egotistical maniac had done what he was told he would still be alive today and probably living in luxury, as would his sicko sons.
In my opinion there is absolutely nothing that any one could have done to him that would make up for those he tortured or were made to watch their loved ones being tortured.
The really sad fact is that this maniac was not the worst one out there. There are others and they plan on coming to a neighborhood near yours. They are called fanatic Muslims. You know, those guys from the religion of peace. Should be called religion of piece, because they want a piece of you.
When is the world going to wake up and realize there are evil people in this world and I don't think they are getting their instructions from God.
Saddam and his sons were an evil, evil family. They thought nothing of killing and torturing others as did many of their associates.
Should we feel sorry because they hung him? They should have cut him in little pieces after-wards and buried him in a pool of pigs blood along with his sons and all their associates.
Maybe if the dictators of the world knew the world would do to them what they did to their own people they would think twice before torturing and killing their own.
Perhaps it's time we started playing by their rules. Maybe we ought to round them all up and start showing them what it feels like to be on the receiving end.
Hanging is too nice an end to someone like Saddam. He should have been forced to go out screaming like a wounded animal.
Or, how about this, amputate his arms and legs and let him live. Then once a day you dip him in pigs blood and then the communal outhouse. Too bad you couldn't cut off everything and just leave his head, then they can use it as a practice soccer ball.
