Poetry: Enlightenment

Clarity

Other people's opinions
Do not define me!

Only undermine
My ability
To choose
The road less traveled.

It is they
That would prefer
That I walked
In their paths paved in gravel;

By conformists
Whose avenues split
Everywhere their
Political views shift;

But you'll never find me
Lost on a route like this

And indelible maze
Of inevitable turns and twists.

Me,

I choose to go with the wind
To bask in the flower beds
Of where nature's trail bends.
It is here that I find myself,

Alone,

On a road that never ends.
