What qualities does a good leader need to possess? They need the strength and endurance. Moreover, a good leader needs justice to govern the group, and mercy and forgiveness when they make mistakes. A good leader also needs to cooperate and communicate with the group or else he will no longer be a leader, but a boss that no one wants to hear from.
Most importantly, a leader needs strength and endurance to continue to the end. That strength does not necessarily need to be physical strength. It can be mental, spiritual, or an emotional strength. A physically strong scout leader can hike for many miles, never stop, and lead the way for the other scouts to follow. On the other hand, the mental leader may not be able to go the physical distance without stopping, but he can emotionally help himself, and others, hike the distance.
Leaders need valor to guide the way for others and themselves. That valor can infect others so they become valorous too. Valorous leaders take the best path, even if it is not the easiest, because the easiest path is not always the best path to take. Leaders are willing to cross the river by swimming instead of crossing the rickety bridge, even if the bridge seems like the easiest way.
A good leader needs justice to oversee, but they also need mercy and forgiveness towards others because leaders know people make mistakes. Leaders must have justice so their followers will not be mischievous. Moreover, leaders need mercy and charity to forgive others because we all make mistakes. A good leader punishes the mischief-makers for their wrongdoings, but he also gives them a second chance to be better.
Superior leaders need good communication skills and cooperation to talk efficiently and effectively with others. A leader with bad communication skills can easily get his thoughts across with screams, fist, and curses, but all that screaming can create chaos. A leader with worthy communication skills can get his thoughts across with calm words, relaxed hands, and a clear mind, which leads to other people having calm minds so they can think(without voices screaming in the back of their head).
A good leader needs inventiveness and needs to know that other people have good ideas too. Having a good imagination helps leaders think of a way to complete a task in the most efficient way. Leaders also need to know that other peoples' ideas are good as well. They need to let others feel as a part of the team.
Leaders need to be strong and persistent, but they do not need to be physically strong. They can be mentally strong as well. Good leaders need to be just and merciful at the same time, and they need well-trained communication and cooperation skills. Leaders need to be inventive for ideas and open minded to others ideas to work together. There is a copious amount of other traits a good leader can have, that are too numerous to put on just a few pages, but these are what a good leader must have to do his best.
