We all know the saying "Stick and stones may break my bones but words may never hurt me" which is not true. You can have your bones brokened but they will eventually heal but when someone comes at you with words of humiliation and criticism it sticks with you for the rest of your life. For example when I was younger and in high school all the guys called me names because I was different then them. Still fifteen years from then the words still haunt me. Even with all the sayings like "action speaks louder than words" words have a more direct approach to hurting people. When you think about all the words we use in our vocabulary to discriminate and crush those different than us. It really has a strong impact in the world. Even if you visited another country their vocabulary is so different than ours and simple words like hello in our language might have a whole another meaning to them. Think about when someone says "I love you" or "I hate you" doesn't that have an impact on you?
Words are much stronger than actions and more deadly than any weapon. It finds its way to the heart and soul of that person and sticks til death to do us part. Long time ago we used words to belittle and segregate the country and still today we use it to either get what we want or to crush someone's ego. Our vocabulary is so broad that people use it to their advantage. All the ism's of the world from sexism to discrimination is what is tearing the country apart. We use words to hurt people different than us. Words get to the root of that person while actions get to the exterior of the person. People loose friends, family, and value when they use their words the wrong way. Words are being used as weapons instead of using it to encourage and influence in a positive way.
If we are not careful on how we use our words we will end up making enemies instead of friends. This world will be filled with hate and it will be unsafe to raise a family in. From discriminatory words for African American to blonde jokes or curse words they all damage the person mentally and emotionally and once that is destroyed they will either fight back or loose hope.
Words are deadly and we all need to think about what we should say before speaking our mind and hurting our loved ones. I have done that before, I wasn't very tactful and almost hurted my friendship with a friend because I wasn't thinking before I spoke. Use your words wise and carefully because it is far more powerful than anything else.
