Unleash the Beast

"What kind of god allows a man, a people to be treated like this," voiced Eric as he kick a sack of potatoes that was sitting beside the water shed. "Here we are in this here hell and all you have to say is, Thank God and one day I'll exchange this hell for a heaven!" "I feel if there is a heaven it should be right here, so we can see it!" "How I'm gonna enjoy a heaven if when I get there, I don't know nobody because their bodies all ripped up from this here hell on earth?" "Hush up you devil," spoke Alice as by now she had heard enough! "All my life I have heard some crazy words but them words you done said are craziest I have ever heard," replied Alice as by now she had approached Eric. "Boy don't you know it's by the grace of God that we here; not just on this here plantation but in this here world! If yous let God go, then who do you depend on, Master Henry?" "Well Momma Alice I'm just stating the facts," voiced Eric as he backed slowly to other said of the water shed. "I been here on this here earth 23 years and ain't none of them was good!" "I saw my father get beat for not wearing shoe in the fields and you knows what Master Henry tells him?" "Next time he gonna brand his feets to make sure he have on shoes! So I's sorry if I don't go around thanking God like yous do," spoke Eric. "Boy, yous to young to understand what age really means," answered Alice as bent down to gather the potatoes that had fallen out of the sack. "I guess you think cause you been around for 23 years you knows all it is to know about life and God?" "Well let me tell you, I've been around for 50 years on this here plantation. I've seen slaves come and go all in one day. I've seen Master Henry cry and topple down to his feet all because he wife suggest leaving him because he was laying up with a slave. I've seen the whole moons, halves moons and even bright orange moons. I've seen the sun come up and appear, go down and disappear. I've even seen the sun appear from behind the cloud only to go dark in front of another! So boy don't let me start counting years, you have just begun to grow up to life. I've been around so long that I am life," spoke Miss Alice as she by then had finish picking up the potatoes that had fallen and was on her way inside her cabin. "Momma Alice" said Eric "I am sorry for what I done said to you and God. It is just this life you live and the life I want to live are so very different." "Well child," said Momma Alice "you have all the time yous stay here to please me but yous have only a vapor to please God, so I suggest you killing that beast that make you want to say that God ain't helping you! I means it too, you take him and kill him cause hell maybe long but eternity is forever, remember that son!"
