Tips for keeping a house-cleaning check-list

Created on: May 13, 2008

Naturally, there are 100's of chores to do around your home and garden.
Here are a few tips just to help you keep up to these chores.

Tip: Dust in your home
Take your shoes off at the front door it is a simple and effective way to elimanate alot of dust in your home that you are breathing.
If you are not going to take off your shoes at the front door, then at least use a welcome mat of you choice.

Tip: What about the air ducts
Do not cover air ducts because the air duct is often the only source of outdoor air and covering it prohibits fresh air from coming in. Ventilation is necessary.

Tip: A must
Keep a good attitude as you are the prime candidate for the physical ills caused by indoor air pollution.

Tip: Carpets
If your carpets get wet, be sure to clean and dry them promptly. "Once wet, they can have microbiotic growth that can release spores into the air. These spores can trigger sneezing, wheezing, throat and eye irrations, and other day to day problems."

Tip: Plants
Generally, you need a minimum of one plant for every 100-square-foot (average-size) room. Among the most environmentally efficient (and easiest to maintain) are bamboo areca and other palms, pece lily, English ivy, Boston Fern, corn plants, and chrysanthemums.

Tip: Ban all smoking
Stop all smoke from your home. Cigarette smoke contains more than 4,000 different chemicals including benzene, formaldehyde and carbon monoxide - possible culprits in the sick building syndrome.

Tip: When to clean
Do your housecleaning immediately before you leave. Vacuuming picks up only maybe 15% of the dust. "Much of the dust goes right through the vacuum bag and hangs in the air for several hours.

Tip: Cleaning product
There are many products as you know. If you have animals example dogs, cats, do not use any to strong in smell and inhalation of these fumes can make an animal sick. Not only that if the animal comes in contact with the solvent they could be poisoned. Be cautious when using any types of cleaners.

Tip: Steam Cleaning
If you steam clean your carpets as often as possible you will find that the house smells much nicer and that you do not have as much heavy vacuuming to do also the amount of dust really decreases.

Tip: Enjoy
Try to cut down on the household chores and let the house relax to.
The best thing to do is to be outside in the garden enjoying your fresh plants and flowers.

These chores will allow you plenty of time to enjoy your day.

Good Luck!
