Ideas for great vacations

about getting thirsty or hungry in Italy because eating is an art there. There are plenty of restaurants and little stores (bottegas) everywhere. Sometimes you have to ask about a bathroom but there are plenty of public bathrooms around.

Ostia is another place to spend sometime in when you are in Rome. The smaller airport is there and it is on the ocean so you may want to just enjoy the beach for a day. Another beach is Civitavecchia.

Naples is a total contrast from Rome and you'll enjoy it. The port is breathtaking with so much going on and you can spend time just strolling around. Believe me it will keep your attention. If you're not in love you will fall in love in Capri which is an absolutely beautiful island. There are also some less known islands there like Ischia you may want to visit. Sorrento, Amalfi, Salerno, and Positano are some other places to see. The whole area of Naples is full of beauty.

Sicily and Sardegna are again a total contrast full of history, art, and natural beauty.
Palermo in Sicily is some city to visit and there is no end to the sight seeing it provides. Be sure to go to some of the beaches there. Messina and Agrigento are some more popular ones but there are plenty of smaller beaches where Italian families go and you can get a tan while watching all that is going on.

Genoa is such a unique city. The port there is unbelievable and you can spent time just strolling around seeing the beautiful ships and smaller boats. It is a very elegant city and again a total contrast from Naples but both beautiful. There are so many places to shop and whatever you want to buy, it is there. The variety of restaurants and night life will keep you going not to mention the art to explore.

Turin and Milan have so much to offer including the business environment both cities provide.
Whatever your interests are you will find them there. You may want to visit a quiet small residential city like Vercelli nearby. There are some beautiful small towns near Turin and within an hour's drive you can see the beautiful countryside. Many go camping in that area and you'll see chalets many Italians own or rent. Italians spend their vacations on the ocean and the mountains. If it is winter you'll find plenty of ski resorts.

Venice is a stupendous city and there is no other place like it. For the art lovers it is heaven but all who visit Venice are captured by the magic of the city. You don't have to have a partner because once you go in the gondola you'll be in love with
