Ideas for great vacations

by Anelisa

ITALY: The land where your senses are stimulated, your emotions are calmed and balanced, your heart is excited to love, your mind is challenged, your soul finds joy, where humor is everywhere, and where your very being shouts out,"Life is beautiful!" The longer and more often you go to Italy the more you love being alive and the more you fall in love with it. No wonder people call Italy, the land of romance and love. One very respected Scripture scholar who was in the Vatican doing research also said, "GOD desired the Vatican to be in Rome and that Italian is the language of GOD."

No matter who you are or when you go, you can be assured that you'll get more than your money's worth. Sometimes Italians can get snippy but don't let it bother you, just keep on enjoying your vacation. Understand that most who serve you are bombarded with tourists and many times are overworked. Whether it is Italy or not don't let anyone ruin your vacation. Italians on the whole love people and life so just let life be. Be ready to meet people from all over the world so in a sense when you visit Italy you visit the world.

There are so many great tours for your vacation in Italy where every detail is planned for you. If it is your first time to Italy and you do not speak Italian, it may be best you go on a tour. You may prefer a tour even if you speak Italian! Many people and families I know have taken tours and loved it since it took out the stress and they could just sit back and enjoy it. They also felt secure since whatever would come up, someone would know what to do. Tours have become more flexible too so whatever you want to do, your travel agent can arrange it.

Now if you're young you may want to just travel with some friends and go wherever you want to go and just take it as it comes. Whether you speak Italian or not it doesn't matter because most young people know some English and are glad to communicate to improve their speaking skills. Most know French or some other languages so you'll get along just fine.

When you're in one of the big cities like Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, Genoa,Turin, or other smaller cities like Bologna you may want to take some time to go to the outskirts to take a break from city life and you'll be surprised what contrast you can get in such a short time. You can go by bus, train, or taxi. Tivoli is a great visit. You could just stroll around the city or go to Villa Borghese, Villa Gregorian, or just stop and see whatever is interesting. Don't worry
