Nestled in the snowy mountains of the Sierra Nevada, you will find Mammoth Lakes. No, not the waters of extinct wooly creatures, but a small California village offering big adventures. There are exciting outdoor activities, but if you do not wish to snowboard down an 11,000 foot peak, search the fishy waters for trout and other flopping sea critters, or clear your face of drool drippings as you are led throughout the hills by an enthusiastic dogsled team, those escapades may not be for you. Luckily, for those who consider themselves a little less adventurous, Mammoth Lakes has many artistic, educational, and entertaining venues that can keep you safely indoors.
