MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
They made the call.
Some were saved.
Others would fall.
*
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
MAN the guns!
Keep in mind
What they saved us from.
*
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
Our Heroes are sung.
With their blood
America is made One.
*
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
Let's wave the flag.
Memorial Services
Can be so sad.
*
MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
"Oh say can you see?"
"We're the Home of the Brave.
And The Land of the Free."

Poetry: A soldier's tale
by Ed Coet
DISTANT WARRIOR
I get this wondrous chill as night falls
in mountains or desert sand
and I find myself dreaming about
home,
The drums call out to me
On the distant horizon
I cannot help but be drawn to them
They lead me to my fate
Do I really want
Mama's boy they laughed and teased
Son don't worry time will come when this will cease
She kissed his skinned knee and his
"Daddy’s Boots"
Little girl in the mirror
In your mother’s shoes
And in your daddy’s green hat
Little girl
I am a Soldier on the battle field
Today I killed for the first time
I took away a life to save another and myself
Its kill
