Pros and cons of writing on Constant Content

Constant Content is a website that really isn't for the faint-hearted. It is the epitome of a professional, unforgiving writing environment yet it has a strange, almost alluring charm to it that draws in freelance writers and provides many of the articles you see online today. What are the advantages of Constant Content? What are the disadvantages of Constant Content? Please allow me to explain:

Writing standards are paramount on Constant Content. All articles that are submitted to the site are checked for plagiarism and must meet a specific standard. Whilst this raises the bar and is good for publishers that want high quality work, their "3 strikes and you're out" policy is a little daunting.

Constant Content have a policy so that when you submit an article, if it gets rejected, you can only have two more rejections before they will cease to allow you to submit work or receive payment for previously submitted work. Three rejections are a bit daunting as the writing standards are so high but this works in two ways; it separates the wheat from the chaff and indirectly, increases writing quality.

Another advantage of Constant Content is the "request content" option. Publishers are able to request an article by submitting specific guidelines and writers can write within these guidelines and then submit the article to the publisher.

Articles are not usually posted in their entirety on Constant Content but an extract is provided and any interested publishers may then contact the writer to ask for the full article. This is a nice advantage for the writer, as it prevents unscrupulous persons attempting to pass your work off as their own.

Possibly the most useful feature of Constant Content is that writers can also set their own prices on their work under 3 categories; usage purchase, unique purchase and full rights purchase. Usage purchase is where the publisher can use the article but the writer retains all the legal rights and credits, unique purchase allows the publisher to buy the article, the writer may not sell the article again and the publisher may not alter the article and full rights purchase allows the publisher to modify, receive credit for and resell the article.

Now to the sole major disadvantage; PayPal is a concern on Constant Content because not only do you have to pay fees to receive your payment (Helium waives this fee) you must have accumulated a minimum of $50 in your account before you can receive any payment.

I would also suggest that the forum is quite serious an environment. Unlike on most writers' forums, where most people are willing to engage in general conversation or share ideas the forum, on Constant Content appears more like a question and answer session. This may be an advantage, this may be a disadvantage, I think this is purely down to personal interpretation but I feel a forum should be a lot more welcoming.

Overall, I would highly recommend Constant Content but I would be wary of the consequences should your articles not be up to their increasingly high standards.
