For a high schooler, prom is the one night you always think about and never forget. It can be all you focus on for months, dreaming of that perfect night with that perfect person, daydreaming about it all day in every class. When it comes down to asking that dream date to the big dance, it makes the butterflies start flying around your stomach like crazy. Thinking of a special and unique way to ask the big question is tricky stuff too! Here are a few ways that I have witnessed work in finding a prom date. Unfortunately, I was never the girl privledged enough to have a date creative enough to do this!

Guys, most ladies love flowers and chocolates. Go to the flower shop and buy a rose for every period of the day in school attached with a note providing a small hint. You can make the hint say whatever you please, but here are a few ideas for the first note. If your dance has a theme, you can make the notes about that. Heres an example : If your prom theme is Night Under the Stars, make your first note say "I can see us dancing the night away, under the stars." As each period passes, make the notes progress more towards the final question. For the last period, place a box of chocolates in your special dates locker or classroom with a note asking that person to the big dance. Or you can simply leave a note saying "Meet me after class." Then you can meet and ask for yourself! Its up to you, and with this method it can be as creative as you want it!

If you are up for a challenge, send your potential date on a scavenger hunt. Leave a note in your hopeful dates locker telling that person where the first clue is. Then make each clue lead to either your house or a location you will be so you can ask the question, or you can have the clue lead to where prom will be held. Make each clue prom related, have your potential date go to places like a dress/tux shop, flower shop, or anywhere you can put a unique clue. Make your clues on anything other than just plain paper. Buy a corsage and place it somewhere, or guys buy a tiara and tell that special lady that she can be queen for a night. Wow your date and impress him/her, this will be a special search time that is unforgettable, leading up to a great prom night. Add your special touches to leave hints that give an idea what they are looking for and the ultimate result. Start planning this ahead of time and put some thought into it, this is a well thought out process that can steal a guy or girls heart!

We have all seen it in the movies, and if you're up for going all out, rent a sign or billboard. Sure, to some people it can be embarrassing, but to others this is an awesome way to be asked to prom. If you know your potential date well, you should be able to judge whether he or she will like this or not. Make sure you pick a location that will be seen by your chosen date, nothing would be worse then he/she not seeing the sign!

These are all a few ways that are sure to get a big YES out of that special someone. Odds are, if you are this creative, you are definetely going to wow that person. Put a lot of thought into it, and think out a perfect way just for you. Take all the nervousness and anxiety out of asking that big question, just shock them with your creativity!
