Best muscle cars

Muscle cars, what is the exact definition of a muscle car? Is it just a personal view on the size of the motor, the year produced, the country produced in? Well, I think the term is viewed as a 1960's, American produced automobile that has been restored to like new condition. This view of a muscle car is not entirely accurate.

I know that a neighbor of yours owns, what everyone in town considers a muscle car. It may be a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro, huge motor, loud and deep exhaust, candy apple red paint. Sure sounds like a muscle car, but did you know that the guy living right across the street that owns the 1992 Toyota Supra has a smaller size motor, in terms of cubic inches, but the Camaro may have 340 horsepower but that smaller, newer, more of a gunmetal gray paint job actually is putting out 500 horsepower to the rear wheels ! Doesn't this sound like a muscle car to you?

Why is it that because the Supra was produced in Japan is it NOT considered a muscle car when it will literally smoke the Camaro away? In a new age of the world we must look past any of our old beliefs on many things. This discussion of the Best muscle cars should be a basis to work upon in changing our belief structure.

So, without a challenging or full of debate situation, I will cast my vote for this 1986 1/2 - 1992 Toyota Supra production run. This car dubbed the MK3, since it is the 3rd generation of the Toyota Supra name, is in my opinion the best muscle car. This vehicle is by far highly modifiable, from the hood emblem on the front nose to the muffler at the rear end. As a non-turbo engine, it came from the factory with a completely stock 200 hp and the turbo version with around 240 horsepower. These two engines, the 7mge and the turbo 7mgte versions offer a grand basis upon which to build the "ultimate street machine". There are MK3 Supras running the factory blocks that are running the 1/4 mile in drag racing and getting around 9 seconds, WOW!

So without going into great detail this vehicle is, in many people's minds, the Best Muscle Car on the road still to date. These cars are very comfortable to drive, a joy to own and by far, very eye appealing and rare. The model year of 1992 marked the ending of the production of the MK3 and with a final production run for that year only reaching around 1500 it is one of the most sought after models of an already sought after car, if you are in the market to own one of these beauties then search and search.

Hopefully, like I have, you will someday get the opportunity to own and drive one of these well built automobiles. Long live the Toyota Supra 3rd Generation!
