If you're one to spend a lot of time researching information on the Internet, you'll have already discovered it's a plethora of information. Whether this information is true or not or whether it is free or not, may have you jumping from site to site trying to discover more information and may become time consuming and at times annoying.
Locating which information you discover on the Internet that is credible and insightful can become a task that is confusing and one that is difficult.
But for those of us who do require information quickly, yet information that is correct in fact and one that can be discovered in a couple of clicks of the mouse, locating the best online reference sites is essential.
Here is a selection of the best online reference sites and sources for all your research needs.
1) Refdesk.com
If you can't find what you're looking for on this site, then you may be in trouble. This is a fantastic website that also includes its own search engine that will direct you to popular news article reference, but also provides useful links to other search engines.
Much time can be spent at refdesk.com but just be aware that you can easily become distracted reading the great information available.
With current news issues, photos and videos and a portal for reference sources all over the internet, refdeck.com is one website you must add to your favorites.
2) Encarta
Encarta is a free encyclopedia available on the Internet. Their articles and reference material is abundant and written so clearly that it makes this site one that is great for sourcing information.
Encarta has an easy search engine that will take you straight to the information you require. It also has an online atlas and dictionary and has information for all levels of learning and education.
3) Bartleby.com
Using the best books available for reference such as "The World Factbook", "Roget's Thesaurus", "Grays Anatomy" and other popular reference books, Bartleby.com provides them all here in one place. You can choose your point of research by typing the topic or key words into the search engine provided, or you may click on the individual sources depending on its relevance.
You may find some of the reference books to be quite old, but keep in mind these are still used throughout the world as reference material. The writing you'll find on Bartleby.com is more suitable to that of an adult and probably not a child as the information presented can be quite involved.
