concealing the band, or if your hair is long enough, you can curl the ends for a different look. If your hair is short, consider using a piece of ribbon that matches your dress to conceal the hairband.
The Simplest Updo: Cascading Curls.
Divide your hair into an upper and lower ponytail, each secured with a hairband. Use a curling iron to make spiral curls, and use hairpins to secure the ends to your head. Some will need to be attached above each ponytail, to the sides, and below the ponytail.
To give this style your own personal touch, consider putting one ponytail on the side of your head so that the curls will cascade across the back of your head instead of just up and down. You can also divide your hair into more sections to create your own, original, style.
Other Options
Incorporating fresh flowers into your hair can make almost any style unique, formal, and beautiful. Make sure flowers are kept cool with their stems in water until it is time to add them to your hair. Choose flowers that are fairly hardy, like orchids, baby's breath, roses or daisies and use hairpins to place them as the last step in creating your hair style, as hair spray may cause the flowers to wilt.
Just because it is a formal event doesn't mean you have to wear your hair up. Make the most of your gorgeous hair by wearing it down and using unique barrettes to hold your hair away from your beautiful face.
Visit your local craft store and check out the ribbon section, and the beading section, because you can make beautiful jewelry for your head or hair that coordinates with your dress. Ribbons and beaded jewelry can be braided into your hair, twisted into a bun, or used to hide any hairbands or short pieces of hair that are trying to escape from your perfect style; just use hairpins to keep them in place.
No matter what style you choose for your big night, make sure to practice your style in advance, to make sure you have the right products, accessories, and also to confirm that it flatters your outfit and personal style. With all of the time and effort that you have put in to finding the perfect dress and creating your beautiful hairstyle, you are guaranteed to be gorgeous while you are having the time of your life!
