What unlocks the door to wisdom?
Is it that feeling of needing to know
that provides the key to unlock that door?
Is it fear or desperation?
Is it the longing for something better?

You dig through the pockets of your
tired old and battered wallet
hoping to find the key to unlock that door
but just see aspects of your past,
and of your frail identity.

You look up to find answers
and to find that key to unlock the door
but find only the clouds,
the moon, the stars, the sun
and the ever changing sky.

You look to the Earth hoping
to find wisdom amoung the tall trees
and the grasses, the mountains,
the sands and oceans,
Yet you cannot find the key there.

Then after so much searching
you realize something greater than yourself,
exists even inside yourself...
You look within yourself to find true wisdom
and the faith that you will find it, unlocks the door.
