Sometimes, rape occurs because the victim is irresponsible. It is hard to point a finger for a rape victim and say she is irresponsible but sometimes though, this thing happens. The victim must have thought that rape will not happen if she goes with the rapist whom she had trusted for a long time. Often times, a victim is raped by a friend, a boyfriend or a relative whom the victim had trusted.

Some women are irresponsible because they are the ones calling the attention of men. They don't understand the consequences of what they are doing. Men sometimes are flattered if women are the ones attracting their attention and they boast if they kissed the woman. Their are men who kiss and tell, although not all men boast of their conquest everyday.

Women who wear hot shorts and very short skirts often attract attention of the opposite sex easier than those who dress accordingly. Some women experience acts of lasciviousness in public places because of the way they dress and handle themselves. One lady was grabbed by a fellow passenger in a bus because she was wearing a blouse that showed half of her cleavage. Another was caressed on the thigh because she was wearing hot shorts. If women dress this way, some unmannered men might think they are cheap and they go to the extent of doing acts of lasciviousness to them. The woman is lucky if she is in public places, what if she was walking alone in a dark secluded area and the man met her? You could never tell what may happen.

When rape happens, it is an act of forcible sex. Sometimes though, there is what you call rape with consent. It is hard to determine which rape is with consent because I only know that rape is rape and it is done with force. And someone who rapes must be punished for the crime he did to the victim.

Sometimes, girls must be responsible with whom they are going with and be careful where they are going. Take for example a sixteen year old high school student who was gang raped by her friends. She went out with the boys and had a party. They all got drank and she was the lone girl, when she woke up she found out that she was raped. Investigation showed that she was gang raped by the same friends she went with that night.

The cause of the rape was the girl's being irresponsible. She should have thought that she was alone with the boys and thought of what might happen if she drank with them. It is hard to judge and point a finger to someone but things like this could be avoided if everyone of us are responsible.

Too much trust sometimes cause damage to someone. If you trust someone, don't give him too much, leave something as a caution. And always bear in mind that not all people could be trusted. Sometimes, the best friend that you thought turns out to be your worst enemy.

Men or women alike must be responsible in order not to become rape victims.
