Unique ideas for a Mother's Day gift

Mothers are irreplaceable and this is a good day to jump start a whole year of appreciation and love. . Her gift to you was the nine months before you were born, gift that no one else can ever provide, and that no money can repay.

That being said, here are some special ways to celebrate your mother.

Time with loved ones
The number one gift that mothers appreciate is time with their loved ones. There is no greater reward than to look into the eyes of your own children. Family photos are treasured for generations. Use this day that the family is all together to take an heirloom photo, at a photo studio, or in her home. Or perhaps mom is an amateur photographer, or Junior wants to try out his new digital, or grandma wants to experiment with the digital printer you bought her. Mother's Day is a great time to sit together and simultaneously say, "Cheese."

Travel
Haven't been home in a while or have a child who lives far away? This is a great day to get the whole clan together. Rather than gather at one person's home, the whole family can plan a weekend (or longer!) getaway at a hotel or resort, especially the kind that has activities to entertain all ages.

Phone home. Buy a videophone so your mom can hear and see you. Or purchase a phone card.

Flowers and Chocolates
It's spring. Mother Earth is blossoming. Flowers are a lovely gift. To make the gift last longer, buy a potted plant. You can purchase an indoor plant from many florists, or pick up a rosebush or azalea for her garden. Or seeds and planting soil if she is a gardener.

The variety of chocolates available is enormous. Spa time, or hot tub time: time to tend herself
