Truthfully, No. On-line daters really can't be considered "couples". To be considered a couple you must have some emotional connections and be able to talk to them when ever you want and see each other and be seen with each other. Honestly, if the two people really cared about each other then they would have met in real life. They would have pursued a real relationship, not just filling a "void" by talking to a machine. I'm sorry to those people who do feel that an on-line relationship is real, but grow up! You probably are too desperate to try and find someone yourself so you settle. Just slow down and someone will find you. I told my cousin the same thing. She went to prom will her ex-boyfriend and now she wants to go back out with him because she is lonely, she only feels this way because she is used to having some want her. Does that sound secure to you? Now she is in college and I think she is a great person and should just wait and see what happens. SHe doesn't need a man to make her feel secure. SHe is fine on her own and so are all you internet daters out there reading this article. All you need right now is some good friends you can talk to about everything. IF you need to you can always vent here on Helium. It really is a great website you know. Who knows, maybe your problems will make you some money. Plus you also must to think about the fact that the Internet is open to anyone. No matter what age. Someone could say they are a 23 year old with an athletic build, and then turn out to be some lazy, 60 year old, pervert trying to get his kicks. You would never know because the internet can conceil anyone's identity. For all you know you could be putting yourself in danger and have no clue. I know that when I talk to people on-line, I am not like myself. I have actually asked someone out over the internet that went to my school and we actually dated. ONLY FOR TWO DAYS, because I was too shy in reality. I felt wierd when everyone was talking about me at school. I couldn't handle it. So you can see, I am much more confident than I would ever be in real life. I say my inner most feelings with out fear and it's because I don't worry about this person because I can't see them and they can't see me. (Ergo, there is NO connection what so ever.) Don't sell yourself short and don't settle for anything less than your expectations. I believe there are two people out there for everyone, the one that your looking for and the one who is looking for you. I will tell you right now, that person is not on my-space or a chat room on the Internet. Good Luck!
