The drama that surrounds girls

by Laura Fellows

Created on: May 10, 2008

I have been raised in a very small town for the whole fifteen years I have been breathing. Fifteen years of seeing how older Ladies gossip just as much as those in high school. Fifteen years of realizing that a lot of people from different schools are hesitant when getting "involved" with a girl from my school because they know that the drama that they may encounter can be HUGE!

Most people, from here, can realize that other people have SO much drama going on in their lives. Those people are then dubbed as the people to "stay away from." A life drama-free is spectacular! You just know it would be trouble if you got involved. It becomes pathetic when YOUR friends from other schools stop talking to you because your life is filled with more drama than they are used to. The sad thing, you do not realize it, until it is too late. Whether YOU are the dramatic one or your friends make drama because of your "other school" friends, drama is there.

These days, drama has escalated BIG time. Seriously people find themselves trying to sabotage other people's lives for the "fun" of it. Can anyone else say RIDICULOUS?! So, why is drama such a huge problem between us girls? It is simple: COMPETITION. As competitive as guys are, us girls are pretty bad. We all seem to strive to be PERFECT. We want to be nothing less than the "best." We shall try whatever it takes to make it that way. Even if it "making it" means to ruin someone else's life. Come on, we are all guilty of doing something to someone else just so we could have a little bit of the spotlight.

Drama is kind of like God. I mean, in the sense that YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM IT! Although, we must sit back and think, what would my life be like without drama? Amazing, as some would think. Actually, a little drama in our lives makes it exciting.

As stress-free as life actually is without excessive drama, we all still get involved. To some, it's like an addiction I suppose. Therefore, the drama around us, it will never end. There is no hope. I am TOTALLY just kidding, but we do have to cut the excessiveness of our drama-spreading ways, down. That way, life would be grand. We could all be happy more of our days as opposed to wanting to "ruin" her. There are some things we can just let roll off our shoulders, but other times we have to show our backbone's. We cannot spend our lives letting people walk all over us! Something must be done!

When you lose so many friends and definitely so many boys to drama-related problems, you just want to revolt. How can we? The first step: SELF-CONTROL. Some people take things too far, and well, that is when it gets worse. Do NOT let it get worse.
