Things to do in spring in New York City

by jf

Spring is a good time to visit New York City.It is so because Spring begins the school year in alot of ways. Classrooms are full and therefore the museums have opened up new exhibits, art galleries have interesting and exciting shows. Also Central Park, the largest urban park in the world is filled with life and activities. One can also ride on a horse drawn carriage which can be rented by the Waldorf Astoria. Even though horse drawn carriages and Checker cabs may be on the way out, other fun things are there to do.

A rickshaw ride on a motorized bike is a interesting way to travel the streets. Also if you vist, please go to Greenwich Village where street musicians are beginning to tune their strings.

I always reccommend a Circle Line trip to the statue of Liberty. Even though the Staten Island Ferry has acquired a bad reputation, taking it to Staten Island and back is great.Remember the ride to Staten Island can take up to an hour. While on Staten Island bring a list of restaurants. The area where the ferry lands is filled with delicious and appetizing choices for a long afternoon dinner which doesn't have a heavy cost.

In fact,Spring time in New York is more entertaining than Spring time in any other city.I believe Montreal, Canada rivals it. One could take a bus to the Port Authority bus terminal ,and for only one hundred dollars catch the next Greyhound bus to Montreal. Try returning to the Big Apple a few days later and write an essay on the differences between the two cultures,

New York's greatest assets is its transportation system.A ride on the Long Island railroad to the beaches on the East end has always been a way New yorkers spend a weekend.there are hotels in Southampton Town. The train stop ends at Shinnecock canal where the fishing has been reported to be the best in the world.Montauk Point is a wonderful way to spend a weekend. The view off the rocks towards the bright blue Atlantic is something many people have never seen.

I truly do recommend New York as a wonderful place to vacation during the Spring. Be sure to bring traveler's checks, and find a cheap hotel .

A good travel guide such as Foster's Guide to New York City is a must. The reason for the guide is to be able to get the directions to the many different ethnic restaurants serving magnificent cuizines.

Try bringing a notebook or a camera because often times you may see musical events or natural sites that are so unique and inspiring that you would not want to ever forget them.
