Most sunglasses will have the correct UV protection. Now days that is pretty much common.

Don't be confused that you need more UV protection because you live in the south at lower altitudes, thats not true. UV is really higher in the higher altitudes of the north.

It is a misconception to believe one pair of glasses is enough. Sunglasses are like shoes, you need the correct pair for the activities you are participating in.

Whether you choose a classic pair such as aviators which have been marketed since WWII or purchase a modern style that you would see on the movie stars, take care of your glasses properly. There is lens cleaner on the market that you can use that will not scratch or damage your glasses. Use it. Don't ever use window cleaner on your lenses, it will ruin them. Use a microfiber cloth as it is gentle enough not to harm the lens. Cleaning your lenses on a cotton shirt can actually scratch. Beware.

Whatever you choose, get the advice of a professional. If you need safety lenses, then get the ones that are OSHA approved.

Sunglasses are fun. They protect your eyes and show the world your unique style. Choose sensible and take care of your frames and they will be with you for a long time.
