my heart is heavy, my shoulders are low
when I think of the burdens you carry
for I can not help, I can not see
those things of which you must be wary
it is for you my sonto know and to do
the many things that are waiting for you
in the youth of your life, a man surely knows
right from wrong, doors to open, doors to close
you have crossed a line unclear to you now
a line between desires and good common sense
and other such things that will draw you in
make it easier for yourself, erect a tall fence
one that divides the good from the bad
giving needed peace to your mom and your dad
we realize it is but a matter of time
'till all of your hills will be climbed
then you may look back and you will find
smiles and a knowing of the greatest kind
for a corner turned is a corner turned
the knowledge thus gained is very well earned

From our childhood we select
The choices our parents direct
