On November 22, 1963 Camelot died. Lee Harvy Oswald, a former Marine and alleged CIA operative, reportedly shot JFK - John Fitzgerald Kennedy, ending a period of political optimism in the United States.
A self avowed Marxist who made a trip to the Soviet Union in his teen years, Oswald had attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker on April 10th, 1963, wounding him. This was not learned until after JFK's assassination. During his escape attempt after the assassination Oswald killed Officer JD Tippet. Cornered in a theater latter Oswald nearly killed Officer MN Mc Donald, who saved himself by jamming his hand between the hammer and the revolver. Oswald was latter killed on live TV by nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who had many friends in the Dallas Police and the underworld.
There have been many conspiracy theories put forward around the death, and many players blamed for JFK's death. Viewing films from the time in my opinion it does appear that the final, fatal shot came from somewhere in front of rather than behind. Was there a second shooter? We may never know. but there is certainly enough information out there for you to decide for yourself. Here are some good sites to start your own investigation:
