Successful Writing As An Online Messenger

Following these twelve tips will help you to improve your writing skills. It will also increase the likelihood that your writings will be read and appreciated by other readers, from all around the world. The message that you are writing, sending out, or publishing online, is important.

1. Keep what you are writing and publishing online, ie. your central message, as simple as possible. This is extremely important because what you are writing, is going to be read by an international body of readers, not just by your immediate family, or friends.

2. Always use proper English when you are writing. English, is one of the very few languages understood all around the world. Dialects or slang, may or may not be comprehended by people, in some parts of the world.

3. Be very polite and courteous at all times when you write. Ethics and integrity are important and central, with respect to maintaining a high academic standard of writing.

4. Avoid excess verbiage, when you are writing. Stay on topic and try to write in such a way that you are using the correct and necessary words, but not a lot of other extraneous words, that may or may not be comprehended, by people who live somewhere else.

5. Avoid targeting specific races, creeds, or cultures, when you are writing for online publication. Ask yourself and others, if the words that you are using, would be considered to be appropriate all over the world.

6. Be specific when writing about issues and concerns. Maintain an open and honest approach to the topic, on which you are writing. Be as diplomatic as possible, in your online message and remember that diplomacy is an art in itself.

7. Write information that is challenging, helpful, interesting, current and fresh. Keep the content clean and healthy, being aware that you are feeding the minds of other people, including children.

8. Encourage literacy. One of the major problems in the world today, is the lack of literacy with respect to adults, teenagers and children. You can do your part to encourage people everywhere to read and write properly, simply by setting an example in your own work.

9. State facts as facts, fiction as fiction and fallacy as fallacy. In other words, write truth. Truth is extremely important to people, living in every part of the globe. It will help to build your own credibility as an online writer, or messenger, as well.

10. Edit and re-edit your writing for content, spelling, grammar and punctuation, as often as necessary. It is much easier to correct typos, or other errors, before publication, than it is to do that, once an article has been released internationally.

11. Focus your work on valid and important issues like love, mercy, peace, hope and freedom. Help to make our world a better place, in which to live. Try to make everything that you publish online, worth reading by your international audience.

12. Always try to write as if you were a diplomat, or an ambassador, with an important message. Who knows? One day you might be known to be one.
