The newest generation of home gaming consoles:

Nintendo Wii

Pros: Nintendo has revolutionized game play with this new gaming console. The wireless motion-sensing controller gives gamers more concrete control over the game. Nintendo has also made this new generation of gaming console reverse compatible taking the lead from Sony and Microsoft. Good news for the old school gamer. Nintendo allows you to download popular games from other past systems such as NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, and Sega with this new system. The games for this system make it family friendly. The variety of games makes it appropriate for any age group. Perhaps the pest pro of all- the price tag! When compared with other next generation systems the Nintendo Wii is by far the best with a starting retail price of about $250.00

Cons: The graphics have received criticism for still being too "kiddish." When compared to the graphics of the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3 it is apparent that Nintendo is still lacking in this department. No HD or HDMI connectivity with this system leads many to think that Nintendo missed the train. Another downfall seems to be its lack of availability. Pros: XBOX 360 is made by Microsoft. This means that many of the computer software designers have jumped on board with this project. The availability of a variety of games is a definite selling point for this particular system. Some of the most popular gaming titles are only available on this particular system. Another positive is the graphics. While still lagging behind the PlayStation 3 in the graphics department, the XBOX 360's release date outpaced the other two next generation systems- so they have to be forgiven. The new XBOX 360 elite are capable of connecting to HDMI ports. The older configurations of XBOX 360 are compatible with HDTV sets and older or less advanced TV models. The price tag for this system starts at $279 for the basic system, however if you want to utilize the full capabilities of this system you will have to buy the elite system which will cost $450.00

Cons: The extras seem to cost a bit with this particular system. This is a definite downfall. While the PlayStation 3 has the ability to play BluRay disks the HD-DVD player designed for the XBOX 360 will cost you another $100. The stripped down systems like the XBOX 360 Arcade will not allow you to utilize the system to its full potential. If you want to upgrade the extras are
