Poetry: My angel

by Kelly Robinson

Created on: May 09, 2008

My Mary

If you crossed her on the street
you'd never know
that wings were hidden in her coat
and her heart was aglow
my Mary

Angels by the dozens
covering every square inch
of her quaint tiny home
were just hints of her devotion
to angels of every color and creed
my Mary

A workbench covered in little angels
that she'd make to give
to anyone who was deserving
my Mary

Known as they Angel-Lady in our small town
obsessed with them because she'd seen one
when death chased her down
my Mary

Her children decided she was too old to live alone
Boxed up all the angels, and put her in a home
my Mary

I always thought I would see her again
after I moved away, but angels can be hard to
find when they fly their way
my Mary

I lost my way once, many years ago
and my Mary was there to bring me back home
So wherever she flies, I just hope she knows
Her home is in my heart and in it she glows
my Mary
