Tips for renting a prom limo

Wanting some good leads on renting a good limo? Well, you are definitely in luck. I myself never rented a limo for prom, but with a little research I have some tips that can really save you a headache, and hey, a few dollars, too!

Many times we get so caught up in the excitement of being able to arrive "in style" at the Prom, that we forget the central point of renting a Limo, making sure you are not ripped off. If you know some decent folks in the past that have rented a limo, from a reputable company, that you would trust with your first born, I would say hear them out, and see what they have to say.

Ask to See the Company's Limos: You wouldn't buy a car (even if it were a Jag) without first looking under the hood, right? Well, treat your limos the same way. You want to make sure that you are actually getting the limo that you want. Some companies are known for using older fleet models. A website that you can go to is: ManyLimos.com. Advertisers that work in conjunction with the site have pictures uploaded of their limos online along with their company listings. How awful would it be to think you ordered a 2004 limo and all of a sudden an old beat up 1970 limo cruises to your curb, muffler missing and all? Very unattractive, let me tell you.

Get a signed contract for Prom: This is a sure fire way to make sure you aren't being had. All reliable and professional services will be ecstatic to provide a person(s) with their personal signed-contract for service. This is pretty much their John Hancock, their commitment to you, the consumer, that their service is reputable. Companies that do not practice this art, often times are sleazy, or in rarer cases, are so new that they have not established their business down as well as they would have liked.

Ask About Limo Insurance and Permits: This part is universal. All commercial limousines are mandated to have permits and commercial livery insurance. Sometimes, many of the books we often look in for reference checks (Yellow and White Pages) don't always come with those types of considerations. For your benefit from "fraud" or "con-artist companies," you might wan to ask for proof of both license and permit along with your signed contract.

Ask About Limo Industry Associations: It has been said that limos that belong to "boys clubs" as I like to call them must work in synch with insurance regulations and rules. A good reputable organization called the National Limousine Association (NLA) and also the local livery association
