Being a recovering coke,heroin & speed addict that started using weed in grade 7 & 8,& being HIV+ continue to smoke weed albeit for medical reason's these days.Using the Harm Reduction method is always the best approach or so i have found.I now go into places of learning & tell my life story on addiction & overcoming & maintaining.I have been smoking pot now on a reg basis for 35 yrs now.Yes my memory isn"t the greatest but neither is my appetite,if i don't smoke i don't eat.Its really that simple.I am NOT on med yet,as the Dr have stated that i remain too healthy to start HAART treatment with my cd4's being above 500 at 804!My VL is 1,000.I have been HIV+ since 2001 & the only thing i take for it is a selenium supplement & a daily Vita.I am also on the methadone program & am on a declining slope.I was at 175ml & now am down to 135ml.Its a very long journey coming off of these liquid handcuffs,but one that is worth it in the end as i hate being dependent on ANYTHING or ANYONE!That way U R not disappointed !So with all the recent medical findings that support the use of pot in medical situations ie...cancer,epilepsy,hiv-aids, ms,multiple sclerosis?well alot more diseases & symptoms that pot helps !Y isn't the medical community supporting the Canadian AIDS Society's efforts to make pot easier to access for their HIV+ clients as its their no.1 complaint.Now with Harper cutting all funding to all ASO's & with-in the next 2 yrs they will all close!PHA's must band together & start creating front lines of attack on HIV Funding cuts.If we lose our ASO\s we lose our voice,health & many other things that ASO's bring to their community's.I think Mr Harper has been smokin pot himself to try & cut funding to essential services for HIV+ persons.Harm Reduction works & is proven scientificly to reduce the spread of STD's & HIV.I only wish MR Harper would listen to these learned men that suggest we legalize & tax it.We could provide FREE education & healthcare for all,& with the change we could wipe out the deficit!Thats the smartest move in my view,as Bush maintains War against EVERYONE,(drugs,terrorists,com munism,ect!)Maybe he should relax & smoke alittle himself & just chill George!How many Innocent peoples are you going to wage war against?Pot has to be one of the most studied plants on this planet we call earth!More come out all the time,some for,some against.In fact it changes so often its almost like watching a tennis match with the ball going back n forth-only its about weed-the pro's vs. the con's.Now that i think about it i have been smoking along time now & have yet to see anyone that smokes pot start a fight!I think the guards in jails like it when the "ranges have weed"as inmates are alot more relaxed & happy & are less trouble to look after!You do not need to have a PHD or doctorate to know that legalizing weed would help the economy thats hurting so much,what better time then now to impliment legal pot-especially for those of us that are sick and slowly dieing.Now if only i could remember where i parked!
